Lake Amboseli can attract flamingos when conditions are suitable, while more than 400 bird species have been recorded in the park. Food around Amboseli commonly reflects Kenyan and Maasai traditions, with meals featuring grilled or stewed meat, vegetables, rice, chapati, and ugali, a firm maize-flour staple. Lodges and camps generally serve a wider range of Kenyan and international dishes, while cultural visits may introduce travelers to aspects of Maasai pastoral food traditions.
