Ringo Starr’s right shoe bears the postcode “L8,” referring to the Liverpool area where he grew up, and he is positioned slightly behind the others in reference to his usual position behind the band’s drum kit. John Lennon holds two acorns, recalling his peace campaign involving acorns sent to world leaders.

The statue is situated on the open Pier Head waterfront, making it part of a larger collection of Liverpool landmarks rather than a separate enclosed attraction. Visitors can walk around the figures and view the details at close range, with the River Mersey and the Three Graces forming the backdrop. Its location also places it close to the Museum of Liverpool, the Mersey Ferry terminal, and The Beatles Story’s Pier Head site. The sculpture provides a direct connection between Liverpool’s waterfront and the musicians whose early career remains closely associated with the city.
